The Chair of the Aboriginal Land Council of Tasmania says the Indigenous voice is dead in the water and now we have to work out what’s next.

The comment comes ahead of Saturday’s vote on the Indigenous voice to parliament proposal.

Speaking to Noongar Radio, Palawa man Michael Mansell, who predicts the No vote will prevail, says we need to work out the next thing we’re fighting for.

He says “I think it’s dead in the water.

The polls are indicating that 10 million people are going to vote against it and only seven million are going to vote for it.

The real task for the rest of us, is after the referendum on Saturday, what’s the next step? and what is it that we are going to fight for?”
