The Queensland Government has announced a three stage plan to lift COVID-19 travel restrictions in the states Indigenous Communities.

Despite QLD announcing further easing of restrictions which include unlimited travel around the state, Indigenous communities remain locked under the Biosecurity Act.

The three stages of the plan involve self-quarantining for people entering or re-entering a community, the enabling of communities to become a part of the state’s safe travel zones and the removal of quarantine measures.

Queensland Aboriginal Affairs Minister Craig Crawford says every community has different needs.
