A human rights advocate says there is no equality or justice for First Nations people.

The comment comes amid outrage following the acquittal of the police officer who shot and killed a Yamatji woman in Geraldton in 2019.

The Supreme Court jury decided to acquit the officer after a three hour deliberation on Friday, leaving JC’s family shocked and devastated.

The jury found the officer not guilty of murder or the lesser charge of manslaughter.

Noongar woman, Megan Krakouer is the Director of the National Suicide Prevention and Trauma Recovery Project.

She says 30 years on, there is no political will to fully implement the recommendations of the Royal Commission into Aboriginal Deaths in Custody.

She says grassroots organise need a mass investment from Government.
