The national peak for Indigenous legal services says the ongoing COVID 19 pandemic is not a good time to lose the national voice for family violence victims.
The Family Violence Prevention Legal Services Forum is a group of service providers who support and advocate for victims or survivors of family violence.
It is understood that the forum is only funded until December and the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Legal Services has expressed disappointment that it has not yet secured a future beyond the end of the year.
NATSILS Co-chair Nerita Waight says losing this voice in times like these would be horrific.
