A doctor in the far north community of Yarrabah is urging mob to keep up to date with their COVID 19 vaccines which have proven to keep hospitalisations down.
Dr Jason King from the Gurriny Yealamucka Health Services Aboriginal Corporation says while there is a level of complacency around living with COVID, he is seeing people in the community keep up with hand hygiene and social distancing.
Although he says he would like to see more mask wearing even though there are currently no mandates.
Dr King says if you havnt already, you should talk to your doctor about getting your COVID booster vaccine or the fourth dose if you are over 30.
He Spoke to NIRS about how Yarrabah is doing with the ongoing pandemic.
