The head of the Land Council of Tasmania says the State Government is on the wrong track with it’s approach to a treaty with First Nations peoples.
The Tasmanian Government are expected to hold meetings with First Nations organisations next month to develop an advisory group to lead the process on treaty and truth telling.
Pakana man and Chair of the land council, Michael Mansell says an advisory group is not needed and they have been calling for the Government to instead legislate a draft treaty to take to the people.
