AFL – The AFL’s Indigenous Woomeras tour of New Zealand has been declared a resounding success.

The Woomeras program is a national under 18 female development program which offers players the opportunity to participate in an elite training program with a focus on developing footy, personal development and leadership skills.

The team played two matches in New Zealand on the ten day tour, defeating the New Zealand U/18 womens team in both matches.

Not surprisingly, the Woomeras were far too good for their Kiwi opponents although the New Zealand girls showed considerable improvements in the second game.

It wasn’t all about the footy though with the girls enjoying the off field cultural activities and the opportunity to bond with their Kiwi opponents.
