Police in Western Australia are reviewing a video of what appears to be a serving officer striking a First Nations woman while restrained face down on the ground.
The incident happened in the Kimberley town of Kununurra and was filmed by a bystander who witnessed the attack along with other shocked onlookers.
The video shows the officer striking the woman happened after police broke up a fight between two women.
The identity of the woman is not yet known, however she is believed to be from the Fitzroy Crossing region.
A spokesperson for WA police says while no official complaint has been filed the matter is being reviewed.
