Prominent Australian Aboriginal Gumbainggir Activist Gary Foley, who was part of establishing the original Aboriginal Tent Embassy in Canberra and the Aboriginal Legal Service in Redfern during the 1970s, spoke at the Clancestry event in Queensland last week.

He addressed the subject of activism and the need for young Aboriginal people today to become more deeply involved in the fight for First Nations rights.

Mr Foley says that an activist is a conscientious objector to just about everything they see around them.
