AFL – The Gold Coast Suns have partnered with the AFL to launch the Jarrod Harbrow Leadership Academy.
Since the establishment of the Suns, the club has worked at developing strategies to assist in supporting Indigenous culture within the AFL, the Suns and the broader Gold Coast community.
Harbrow has already begun the process of talent identification working with AFL Queensland and the Suns Academy and said in a statement “As a Cairns product, I had to move to Melbourne to be drafted into the AFL, I want talented youth from Queensland to be given the best possible avenue, support and pathway into the elite system and while the Academy aims to recruit talented athletes, it's not all about football – we want them to grow as people and receive life education, building confidence, awareness and knowledge to help them make better life choices.”
