NRL – The Gold Coast Titans off field dramas have gone from bad to worse with the news that James Roberts (pictured) will quit the club.
Named the Dally M Centre of the Year for his outstanding season with the Titans in 2015, Roberts $300,000 a season contract was ruled null and void last month after it was found to have been tampered with by sacked football manager Scott Clark.
The Titans had offered Roberts an updated deal in an attempt to convince the 22 year old to remain on the coast.
Roberts joined the Titans midway through the 2014 season after being let go by the Panthers and had his best season in the NRL, scoring sixteen tries and equalling the Titans tryscoring record .
