NRL – Players Association president Clint Newton says he can’t rule out the prospect of industrial action as the furore over the 2016 NRL draw threatens to escalate.
Newton has taken the NRL to task over the specific issue of five day turnarounds following the release of the draw with players at a breaking point over their increased workload.
Newton says with the NRL failing to consult with the players over the 2016 season draw and now refusing to consider changes, while a strike remains a last resort, industrial action is a very real possibility.
