A national Indigenous health conference focusing on lifting the wellbeing of First Nations out of inequality has begun its 2-day session in far north Queensland coinciding with World Aids Day and HIV Awareness week.
Hosted by Indigenous Allied Health Australia, the annual conference aims to influence efforts towards closing the gap with culturally responsive solutions.
Among the Keynote speakers are Chair of Indigenous Health and Meriam woman Professor Kerry Arabena, Alyawarre woman Pat Anderson, Director of the Australian Centre for Indigenous Knowledges and Education, Kungarakany man Steven Larkin and more.
The National Indigenous Health conference, with the theme STEP in the right direction, being held in Cairns, has drawn experts and advocates from around the country.
