NRL – Johnathon Thurston (pictured) won’t be putting any extra pressure on himself when the 2016 NRL season begins.
After a remarkable 2015 in which he won his fourth Dally M Award as the worlds best player, received the Clive Churchill Medal after captaining the Cowboys to the clubs first ever premiership and was a vital part of the Maroons State of Origin series win, it will be hard for Thurston to improve on what was an incredible year for the North Queensland captain.
With the Cowboys now back at training, Thurston told NITV’s Stan Grant that while he’s not setting himself any goals at this stage of the year, he’s certainly not making any plans to step back from rep footy either.
