RUGBY LEAGUE – The hunt is on to find a new coach for the Papua New Guinea rugby league team following Mal Meninga’s (pictured) appointment as coach of Australia.
Meninga began working with the Kumuls as the High Performance director in 2013 with a view to improving PNG’s standing on the international rugby league stage and while perhaps not achieving as much as had been hoped, improvements were certainly seen.
PNG Rugby League CEO Bob Cutmore says he’s hoping to see the appointment of a high profile coach that can continue to run with the concepts introduced by Meninga while he was working with the Kumuls.
