The Central Australian First Nations Medical Centre has welcomed the federal government funding commitment to tackling the nation's ice epidemic.
The Australian government has announced an injection of $300 million to combatting ice across the country to assist in adopting recommendations put forward by the National Ice Taskforce.
The Government has accepted and says it intends to implement all 38 recommendations presented by the National Taskforce.
One key recommendation is to keep ice treatment in line with other addiction programs has been welcomed by the CEO of the Central Australian Aboriginal Congress, Donna Ah Chee.
Ms Ah Chee says the principles are the same regardless of the choice of drug. She also welcomes the governments promise to work with communities through evidence based programs to strengthen parents and children’s resilience to break an intergenerational cycle.
