The director of legal advocacy for the Human Rights Law Centre says the commonwealth government is “turning its back on vulnerable children” in the Northern Territory.
The comments are in relation to more than 230 recommendations stemming from the Royal Commission into the Protection and Detention of Children.
The Federal Government says only 28 of those come under federal or shared jurisdiction, and has given in-principle support to all but two of the recommendations.

Social Services Minister Dan Tehan told the ABC the government is committed to working with the Northern Territory government and stakeholders.
