The recent passing of South Australian elder, Ms Trevorrow has become the focus for calls the Stolen Wages Reparations Scheme to be stepped up and for senior members in communities to be given priority.
Late last year the State Government announced $11 million had been put aside for the Scheme to provide payments of up to $50,000 to an estimated 300 eligible people.
Applications for the Scheme have been submitted but many First Nations people are becoming increasely alarmed at the time it is taking for justice to be done.
Ms Trevorrow, who advocated for the Scheme previously tabled her fear that she would pass before she receiving compensation.
Unfortunately, Ms Trevorrow died before her claim was finalised and now her sister, Marline Trevorrow says the situation is extremely sad and that she holds the same fears.
