The Advertising Standards Bureau has disappointingly given the go ahead for this year's annual Australia Day lamb advertisement despite the attracting widespread condemnation across across the country.

The television commercial has reportedly attracted more than 600 complaints Australia-wide and has courted criticism from First Nations people for its use of the word ‘boomerang’  in an attempt to glorify a day that represents suffering for the country's Indigenous community.

Additional complaints from viewers have focussed on use of gratuitous violence to sell a product with the advertisement understandably proving offensive to vegans.

The Bureau has jusified its decision to allow the promotion to air saying it has formed the opinion that the  concept was clearly a fantasy and does not depict, refer to, or parody any Indigenous Australians.
