Advocates in Western Australia have expressed concern for the future a maternity care service with funding to run out in June.

Established in 2011, the Moort Boodjari Mia program has won two national health industry awards and has provided maternity support to hundreds of women in understanding and dealing with child birth.

As neither the State or Federal governments have expressed support beyond June 2016, Dr Jennifer Dodd, who is a maternity and childcare researcher, says First Nations women need a service they can trust.
