The Attorney-General of the Yidinji Sovereign Nation has welcomed the strong affirmation of Indigenous sovereignty put forward by the Uluru Statement.

Gaarn-Yarra Yalmabara says they “agree 100 per cent” with the statements’ claim that sovereignty “has never been ceded or extinguished, and co-exists with the sovereignty of the Crown.”

He says while they agree with some aspects put forward by the statement, he believes a “First Nations Voice enshrined in the Constitution” is racially discriminatory.
