Australian coach Mal Meninga says Johnathon Thurston  will be given every chance to prove his fitness for the Test Match against New Zealand on May 5.

The ANZAC Test will be played in Canberra and the Australian coach says despite Thurstons lack of match play since suffering his calf injury, he’ll definitely be picked if he can prove his fitness.

Both the Cowboys and Australian teams medical staff are working with Thurston ahead of the Test and Meninga (pictured)  says it’s likely that the Cowboys skipper will be picked and then given until the very last minute to take his place in the side.
