Queensland MP Warren Entsch says he is “alarmed” by reports mining company Fortescue Metals Group is withholding almost two million dollars in royalty payments from a Traditional Owner group.

The $1.9 million is reportedly being withheld because Aboriginal people asked for more information about mining leases before signing them.

Mr Entsch, who is the chair of the joint standing committee on Northern Australia, says the evidence presented to the committee has been “very concerning.”
