Queensland police say they’ve had a breakthrough in the disappearance of a young Aboriginal woman who was last seen 11 years ago.
Police have confirmed a 62-year-old man has been charged in relation the February 2013 disappearance of a Kowanyama woman known as Ms Bernard.
Ms Bernard was last seen walking out of the Exchange Hotel in Coen on Cape York.
The case has been back in the centre of attention after a $500,000 reward was offered.
The man is expected to appear in the Cairns magistrates court today.
