The Family Matters campaign is calling for the creation of dedicated, independent Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children’s commissioners in each state and territory and at the national level.
Last week was the Family Matters National Week of Action and advocates came together to call for representation and accountability across the country.
The national week of action is a time when organisations and communities are encouraged to build public awareness and political commitment around keeping our children in family and culture.
CEO of the Secretariat for National Aboriginal and Islander Child Care, Catherine Liddle says proper representation in all states and territories will help generate action on the issues that need attention.
