An oil and gas company based in Perth missed its 2015 target for increasing the proportion of its Indigenous workforce, a sustainable development report has revealed.

The report found that Woodside Petroleum failed to meet the 3.3 per cent demographic in Western Australia, with its count reaching only 2.7 per cent.

The total number of First Nation’s employees in the company fell by five to 94 after 347 jobs were lost across the company.

CEO Peter Coleman says the company has made progress in reducing turnover rates and will continue to work hard to raise Indigenous employment levels.
