Three Brisbane women have climbed onto the roof of the Immigration Minister’s Brisbane office this morning to protest the Federal Government’s proposed life-time ban on refugees arriving by boat.

Scarlett Squire, Kelly Purnell and Ellen Sargent have vowed to stay on the roof of Peter Dutton’s Strathpine electorate office until they are removed.

The women are protesting the Turnbull government’s plans to ban all adults sent to offshore immigration centres on Nauru and Manus Island from ever entering Australia, regardless of whether or not they’re found to be genuine refugees.

Speaking from the top of the electorate office, Ms Purnell says that the group wants Minister Dutton to admit that the proposed ban on refugees violates international law.
