The AFL has entered into a partnership with Australia’s eSafety Commissioner for a new campaign to promote safety and respect online.

The #PlayFairOnline campaign will aim to promote a safe online experience among the AFL fan base and calls on people to play it safe and fair, online and offline.

eSafety Commissioner Julie Inman Grant says we must not give a platform for this abuse and we need people to realise that this behavior is not ok.

General Manager for Inclusion and Social Policy at the AFL, Tanya Hosch says it’s about everyone learning how to be better at keeping our online environment safe.

Players Stand Against Racism

For round two of the AFL season, all players and umpires of the matches between Richmond and Collingwood, and Hawthorn and Geelong took a knee before the game in a show of support in the fight against racism.

A statement by the playing group read – “We stand in solidarity with our indigenous brothers and sisters for all people of colour. There is no place for racism. The knee is an expression of that support.”

General Manager for Inclusion and Social Policy at the AFL, Tanya Hosch says she is proud of the playing group for the gesture.
