Port Adelaide defender Nathan Krakouer (pictured) will miss up to 6 weeks of football after being assaulted in Perth on the weekend.

27 year old Krakouer’s elevation to the clubs senior list has been one of the real pluses for the club in the last year but the injury and the circumstances have put a dampener on Krakouers 2016 season.

Krakouer didn’t play on the weekend and was out with family members when he was allegedly coward punched outside a nightclub , leaving him with a broken jaw.

The club though has handed Krakouer a suspension for drinking alcohol while injured and he’s not expected to be considered for selection until Round 6.
