Hawthorn coach Alistair Clarkson has delivered  a stunning assessment of his team after the Hawks were crushed by St Kilda on Saturday.

The Hawks are firmly anchored at the base of the AFL ladder, ahead of just the winless Swans after being crushed by the Saints by 75 points.

Clarkson (pictured) says for a  club that is considered by many to be one of the greatest of the modern era, to concede eight third quarter goals is a sign of just how far off the once mighty Hawthorn have fallen.
