Brisbane Broncos mature age recruit Benji Marshall (pictured) says his signing came about after a phone call to coach Wayne Bennett.
Marshall signed one year contract on minimal money and will seek to reignite his running game outside Brisbane halves Ben Hunt and Anthony Milford.
Marshall says he rang the coach seeking advice and an hour later, he was on his way to Red Hill.
