A group of First Nation’s people have lodged a complaint of racial vilification with the Human Rights Commission over an online game that promotes the killing of Indigenous people.

The complaint has been made against Apple, Facebook and Google for supplying the game, Survival Island 3 – Australia Story 3D.

The game has since been removed from online stores, but the complainants want to ensure that policies are modified to prohibit the sale of apps or games in the future that are likely to offend or humiliate on the basis of race.

They are also requesting that Apple, Google and Facebook publicly denounce the creators of the game, NIL entertainment.

Film maker and activist Sam Watson says seeing the way Indigenous people are being represented is appalling.
