The Richmond footy club are resigned to being without star recruit Chris Yarran (pictured) for at least the first month and a half of the AFL season.

Yarran has undergone minor surgery  to repair a foot injury after the clubs medical team decided the best option was to have the injury repaired now and have the Noongar star back before the middle of the season.

Richmonds Brendan Gales says the club is disappointed to lose Yarran at this early stage but they’re confident that this is the best course for both Yarran and the club.
